Feedback
Dining at the IHOP location on 23rd Street in Panama City is marked by stark contrasts, as recent experiences reveal both highs and lows. While some patrons enjoyed prompt seating, attentive service, and well-prepared meals, others faced frustrating delays, incomplete orders, and unsatisfactory food quality. Complaints ranged from excessive wait times and inadequate service to cold meals and missing menu items. Despite these issues, positive remarks highlight the teamwork of the staff and the manager's dedication to customer service. Ultimately, the restaurant seems to be in need of consistent quality control to balance its fluctuating reputation among diners.
I visited the restaurant this afternoon on 1/27/24. There was a long wait in the lobby before we were seated, and an even longer wait to place our order with the waitress. Another couple that came in after us was seated and served before us. Even as two more tables were seated and received their food, we were still waiting for our order. Another family arrived and also got their food before us. I was about to leave when my wife approached the waitress to inquire about our order. When our food finally arrived, it was cold and missing part of our order. Despite asking three times for sugar-free syrup, my wife ended up having to retrieve it herself. The bill came quickly, and without checking it, I paid with my card. However, upon review, I noticed I was charged $7.58 for coffee. When I raised this issue, they were unable to provide a refund on my card, but instead handed me $4 in cash. This indicates that they must charge $3.58 for a cup of coffee. I don't blame the waitress, who was managing six tables that all arrived at the same time - this is a management issue. The experience was similar for other tables, with one couple having part of their meal comped as most of their order was incorrect. The couple next to us also faced issues but chose not to return, while another table received cold food and even found a hair in their dish. I have dined at various IHOP locations in the south without experiencing such poor service, and I will never return to this specific 23rd street location. Additionally, they were out of grits, which is a disappointment in the southern dining culture. There is ample parking available, including spaces for handicapped individuals.
The food was delicious and the service from the waitress was pleasant. We will definitely return in the future.
I have visited this restaurant multiple times in the past few weeks, and I am pleased to say that the staff here is fantastic from the moment you arrive to when you depart. I always feel welcomed and like I am at a home away from home. The hosts and kitchen team exemplify what true customer service is all about. They display leadership, compassion, and incredible positive energy! I hope the management is taking good care of their employees, as I would stop coming here if they were to lose such an exceptional team!
Breakfast at IHOP on Christmas is a tradition for my wife and myself. It's the only place in town where you can get crepes.Parking: Plenty of parking
