It took a long time to make this and I wasn't impressedI like Bushes baked beans in a can betterI thought freshly made would taste better but it didn't.
I followed the recipe as written plus I added about 6 drops of liquid smokeI also put whole onions and pieces of salt pork in while it was cooking.
The flavoring was perfect, but I did not cook the beans long enough - they were still hard. Soak them longer and cook them longer than the recipe calls for.
