Was Treva Rohan at Susie's Cafe a mag?
If you drive down the Boavista Peninsula on this side, make some time to drop into this small Cafe and the Craft Shop next door. If no one is in the store, go over to the cafe and visa versa. This is mostly a one woman operation from meal preparation, service, cleanup, cashier and craft shop salesperson. We had the seafood chowder and it was among the best chowders we encountered during our 5 weeks on the Rock. Parki... View all feedback.

What Chinyere Samuel dislikes about Susie's Cafe:
I stopped by Susie's Cafe for dessert while traveling along Route 235. It's a cozy small cafe with only a few tables. Next door, there is a shop that sells locally made crafts. The desserts and tea were delicious, and you can enjoy ocean views while dining. During the season (June-August), you may even spot whales and icebergs from the cafe. View all feedback.

This place is truly unique. Shirley, the owner, is quite a character. She is a fantastic cook and enjoys interacting with her customers. There are only a few tables available, so it's recommended to book in advance if you're eager to dine here.

We were expecting one of the top 5 seafood restaurants in Bona Vista, but were disappointed with our experience at Susie's. We ordered the "Susie's 1/4 lobster special" for $19, but it was a dry bun with a few small pieces of lobster, a slice of tomato, and a lettuce leaf. We asked for garlic butter to add flavor and moisture. The coffee we ordered was also disappointing, as it was tepid and tasted like instant coffee. Our bill came to around $45, and the service was poor with a long wait time. Overall, we do not recommend this restaurant for seafood.

We arrived mid afternoon and were welcomed quickly and loudly by Diane. Suzie's is a tiny little spot - but definitely worth the stop! There is an amazing view of the water AND a large iceberg was visible from our table. We ordered the crab sandwiches and a bowl of chowder (which my husband declared the best chowder he tasted in all of Newfoundland) I enjoyed an iceberg iced tea.. having had Diane explain to me how it sizzles... and indeed it did! Suzie's doesn't have a large menu, but what it does have is good, comfort food.

We were driving to Bonavista and stopped at the Bonavista Social Club only to find it only open Wed. to Sun. off-season. We ventured on and spotted Susie's. What fun we had in this tiny restaurant at the side of the road. Food was good-great clam chowder full of clams, good portion of pan fried cod and delicious fish cakes. The ladies serving were chatty with great senses of humour-it was like eating at an aunts home.

We really enjoyed our meal at Susie's. This tiny restaurant offers simple, home-cooked, tasty meals and friendly service. We had the fish cakes, and they were very good. Worth a visit!
