Nestled in Central, this charming establishment features a delightful bakery and a quaint café, each offering unique experiences. The bakery is renowned for its exceptional Florentine cookies and a variety of pastries, though patrons have noted the absence of displayed prices can be frustrating. Meanwhile, the café presents a limited menu with intricate dishes, but simplicity seekers may be disappointed with options like the rubbery breakfast sandwich. Despite occasional lapses in customer service, the ambiance of both branches remains inviting. Overall, the bakery shines as a must-visit, while the café leaves room for improvement.

Was User at Tag's Bakery a mag?
The customer service at this restaurant is excellent! It is easy to communicate with them and discuss ideas. They fulfilled my demands perfectly. The cupcakes were not only beautiful, but also delicious! The icing was some of the best I have ever had. I will definitely be ordering from here again. View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Tag's Bakery:
I was disappointed to find that there were no prices displayed at this bakery. It made it difficult to know what I was purchasing. I believe that all businesses are required to display their prices by law. I decided not to buy anything for breakfast, as I didn't want to be surprised at the register. View all feedback.

Tag's Cafe is a delightful hidden gem. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, with fantastic food that is incredibly delicious. Definitely a must-visit spot!

No visit to Central Street is complete without a stop at Tag's. Over the years, our family has enjoyed countless delicious treats from Tag's, including cakes, cookies, soups, sandwiches, and more. We have never been disappointed in the quality of their food (and this spans over 40 years). One of Tag's most iconic items is their smiley face cookie, which you can see on their website. These cookies are perfect for treating your little ones after a day of shopping on Central Street or for ordering in bulk for a party or event. They are simple iced shortbread cookies that are perfectly sized and taste amazing with a glass of milk. I would be surprised if there are any Evanston residents who have not visited Tag's, but whether it's your first time or hundredth visit, I highly recommend stopping by soon!

This restaurant in Central is the reason why time flies by so quickly! The food, coffee, and atmosphere are all top-notch. I couldn't resist taking a bite of the sandwich right away and ended up burning my mouth because it smelled and tasted so delicious! The panino was perfectly crispy and savory, made with care by someone who clearly loves their job. I wish there were more places like this around every corner - a sweet café on one side and a lively bakery on the other.

This establishment has two branches. The first branch is a bakery that boasts the best Florentine cookies in the world. I also purchased two Danishes, which were quite fresh but lacking in cherry filling and pecans. The second branch is a café with a limited menu that includes dishes with complex ingredients, making it difficult to find something simple. I opted for the basic breakfast sandwich, which consisted of an egg patty on your choice of bread, meat, and cheese. Unfortunately, despite the bakery's reputation, the sandwich was not satisfactory due to the rubbery egg patty. The staff at both branches were not very friendly and only tolerated customers. The café is a beautifully decorated space, and both branches are clean and spacious. Overall, I would recommend returning to the bakery but would not recommend the café.
