Freddie's - Kure Beach

What a wonderful find! This charming restaurant completely captivated me with its cozy ambiance, outstanding service, and delicious food! The veal parmigiana was tender, juicy, and absolutely heavenly! And I can't forget the Kuretini; it was love at first sip! However, what truly elevated my experience was the impeccable service. When I accidentally spilled my drink (oops!), the server promptly came to the rescue, replacing my bread basket and refilling my drink with a friendly smile. Now that's an impressive touch! To top it all off, it was heartwarming to see so many regulars chatting with the staff like old friends. It's evident that this spot has been a local favorite for a while, and I completely understand why! Though I’m just visiting, I’ll definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. Until then, I'll be dreaming about that veal parmigiana... 5 stars, no question!

We love Freddies and have visited several times before. However, last night, when we had family visiting from out of town, we were a bit disappointed. Two out of five meals were served cold, and one had to be sent back to the kitchen to be reheated (the other person chose not to send theirs back, as we found out later). By the time the reheated food returned, most of our group had already finished their meals. Although the food quality was good, we felt there should have been some sort of compensation for the issues we encountered.

Everything is fantastic! All the one-star reviews come from people who either 1) didn’t make a reservation (and you definitely need one) or 2) attempted to get takeout. Just ignore those reviews!
