Magnificent church. Built in 1816 by Church Missionary Society bof Bengal. Royal family granted a lot of Rs. 12.50 per year for the preservation of the church and it was ordered by Captain Charles Stuart, employee, East India company.
Bardhaman Christ Church or Girga (in Bengali language) is only at Carson Gate. This church is open every Sunday for everyone in the morning. This historic place consists of red hued bricks that attack people from different sections of society during the famous festival events. On Christmas day, many people visit this place. Holy environment is everywhere. I really enjoyed visiting this place.
Christ Church Bardhaman is the oldest (Estd -1816) Church of Bardhaman district (present Purba Bardhaman. The Church of Christ was founded in 1816 by the Church Missionary Society of Bengal. It is located next to the Grand Trunk Road Bardhaman. It's just between Curzon Gate and Burdwan Head Post Office. The building was declared a heritage by the West Bengal Heritage Commission.
