I loved it! The day I was there they were at the patron saints' party of the city and right in the church there was an instrumental music concert by the philharmonic orchestra of the city. It was a wonderful experience.
Decent old church, but I like the one in Heredia main square better!
Classic church of 1893 of the parish of Barva built on the remains of another older one which had been consecrated in 1568 to the patron Saint Bartholomew since the beginning. This parish endured several earthquakes until it collapsed in 1888... As the vast majority of our temples enter this from the West as the altar is east of the ship. Health services were built for the parishioners who come from the North side of it but are kept closed to prevent them from vandalizing, if needed, the key must be requested from the altarpiece.
The church had a beautiful decoration!
