Expect to stay in a hostel and you won't let yourself in for a surprise. we had good Wi-Fi and hot showers. They provided us towels when we requested them. We noticed that there were many backpackers here, some visited for the first time, and others came back year after year.
A bit shabby rooms, but friendly staff and nice compound. Parking inside, good for drivers not for the sleeping, cause ethiopian drivers need to run the engine of their cars in the morning. Rates are ok.
“This is a proper knocking-shop, isn’t it Ben!” It was these words that confirmed the fact that I was, indeed, staying in a brothel. The girls who flirted with the male backpackers: prostitutes; the young smartly dressed Ethiopian boys who would Sheepishly wonder into the hotels grounds: the punters. Having said that, The Baro Hotel is a good place to stay while you’re in Addis: cheap, nice location and good place to meet other backpackers. There are a number of tables at the front where guests gather for food and beers in the evening. Rooms have seen better days and aren’t the cleanest I’ve stayed in.
Nice place to stay in addis, the price is a bit expensive in comparison to the rest of Ethiopia but yet reasonable. The best thing in this place is the backpackers that come over this place so you can share experiences. Hot water and good wifi ! Which are very important
Dirty ..very dirty. And like they cleaned the rooms 10 years ago under the bed, etc. Stuff was very friendly but the pension was very very dirty. For the same price plus 100 you can get a much better hotel in Addis!!!!! And all night cars comming going. Vey noisy!!!!
