After 2.5 weeks, they concluded their investigation. Monty, their QA manager, contacted me and was incredibly condescending, dismissing my experience. He insisted that the glass was actually part of the flexible clamshell container and laughed at me when I tried to explain what happened. I had taken a sample of the clamshell and tested it against the glass—I found that the plastic couldn’t scratch materials like pine, white oak, bamboo, or Ipe, whereas the glass easily scratched all of them. Considering Ipe is one of the most dense and scratch-resistant woods available, it was clear that what I bit into was not part of the clamshell. A simple online search reveals that this is not the first time debris has been found in their products. Despite claiming to be an IFS food-safe facility, these issues persist. I cannot recommend this product or company to anyone; it’s evident they don’t take production issues seriously. Additionally, they have removed negative comments on their Facebook page regarding foreign objects found in their products. Ignoring these persistent problems will not make them go away.
As I write this review, I'm enjoying some Lil' Smiles that I bought from Jewel Osco in Dyer. They are absolutely delicious! I got them on sale for $1.99, while the regular price seems to be $4.99. I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay the full price, but they are quite tasty. Plus, they are still more affordable than Dunkin’ donuts. I would definitely buy them again!
Clyde's Donuts consistently delivers excellent quality, no matter where I purchase them. My personal favorites are the old-fashioned Lil' Smiles and their Apple Cider Donuts. The donuts are fantastic, and the team at this family-owned business is even more wonderful. Thank you all for bringing joy to my family and me!
I purchased blueberry glazed fritters from Mariano's yesterday, and I have to say I was very disappointed. I love blueberries, but these tasted terrible! Once I got home, I checked the ingredients, and the oils you use are quite poor. It seems like you just choose whatever is the cheapest option available. These are definitely not healthy ingredients. It's no wonder there's so much cancer these days. I won't be buying your products again, especially with so many unhealthy ingredients!
