Chanced upon this cafe while driving around searching for not only a place to eat but also a park. Good value for money and friendly people. A great concept by the uniting church to give struggling youngsters a place to volunteer and gain work experience. Well done and good luck to those who are seeking employment via this avenue.
Popped in for a light breakfast and found this to be a gem of a place with friendly staff and good homestyle food.
We came here for lunch and found a relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff. As per the title, you must try this excellent dish, absolutely delicious. Pancakes were also very good. We'll definitely be back.
This café is sponsored by the Uniting Church as a place for young people to gain experience. This is a great project, but this review is of my own experience there. I come for a morning coffee and cake. The café is set back a little from the road in an historic house which is not easily missed if you like mauve! The café seats about 16 in the front room of the house, and is staffed by a young man and a more mature ‘helper’. It is worth coming in here to admire the original old ceiling: a recessed rectangle of timber and beautiful pressed metal, surrounded by ornately decorated plaster. Unfortunately there is only a very small cake selection: some muffins, Anzac biscuits and brownies. There seems to be a greater variety of wraps and suchlike, and a menu board makes suggestions for cooked offerings. My iced coffee is fine, but unfortunately there is little to entice me back here again for a cuppa.
