El Charro Mexicano Aiea

I dont like giving negative reviews but being a food lover and growing up here, I will pay the price for good food. Our bill was 200$ for Birra plates, 1x Burrito plate, 1xfajita plate and a margarita. Never again. Prices do not match the quality. The fajitas had the small shrimp that looked dry as ever and not a good cut of steak. Birra tacos are not that good and dry as well. The waitress was kind but the security camera had a super bright light point towards while we ate which was wierd. No thank you.

I was craving birria tacos and this was the only restaurant in the immediate vicinity sat down, looked at their menu, no birria tacos anywhere. However, when I scanned for the online menu and pricing, there it was! Birria tacos and birria queso tacos! I happily ordered them and while they were delicious and flavorful, they also added SO much fat (one taco full) you can see them being set aside next to the birria bowl in the picture. I’ve not experienced this much fat in the meat before, so this was a surprise I only ate two tacos out of three since the fat was way too much. Don’t think we’ll be coming back.

Some of the best Mexican I’ve had on island thus far. Really small place with limited parking since it’s next to Aiea bowl but cute interior and friendly service. Margaritas were good, a little sweet. Carnitas plate was large and very fresh. Same with birria tacos.

I was very pleased with my food, but some errors were made with our order.

First off, the direction Google gives you are wrong. So it is tricky to find. It's a small business and decorated cute. This food is what I would consider tex mex so not authentic. Be careful with the menu, some of the items read differently then what you actually get, so ask the server before you order. The menu it's self doesn't have any prices. You have to scan the qr code to get the prices. My husband ended up speaking in Spanish to our waitress to ask about what we were ordering. The way our items, that we ordered read in English on the menu, is NOT what she was explaining to my husband in Spanish. Waitress was polite and respectful. The food was not good for any of us except our 7 year old. I personally would not come back here or recommend it here to eat, but that's just my opinion.
