Star Light Chinese Restaurant - Airdrie

We decided to order Chinese food for Christmas Eve this year. We called at 2PM for a 5:30PM pickup. When I arrived for pickup, the restaurant was very busy and people were lined up out the door. There was no organization of the people wanting to be seated, wanting to order and wanting to pickup. I went to the counter and asked the lady where I could pay and pickup. She told me to wait in line. I waited in line for 20 mins and discovered there were tons of people in the same situation as me. All the while they kept taking people in the restaurant and orders over the phone. I paid and stood waiting. They didn’t have it ready at all. I actually stood for over an hour and a half and honestly would’ve gotten a refund if it wouldn’t have been for the fact that A) my family wouldn’t have had another dinner option on Christmas Eve and B) another person who was upset did get a refund and it took over a half hour to complete. The food is mediocre at best. Their buffet is largest in Airdrie but with so many Chinese food options, I recommend going somewhere better. Aside from this particular incident, service and food is nothing to write home about. My advice to the restaurant is not to bite off more than you can chew the way you did on Xmas Eve.

The lunch buffet was served cold, and when brought to the attention of the cook, he dismissed complaints by stating that the temperature was fine according to his thermometer. Two different tables also expressed dissatisfaction. The food options seemed to have been downgraded, with the previous salt and pepper calamari now replaced with fish. The overall quality of the dishes was poor, and there was a slow pace in refilling them. When expressing disappointment at the cashier while paying, the response was apathetic, showing a lack of concern for customer feedback.

We were feeling hungry and stumbled upon this hidden gem in Airdrie. As a fan of Chinese buffets, I found this one to be one of the best I've tried. There was a great selection of dishes, all at a reasonable price and well-prepared. I made sure to try a bit of everything (it's a must) and I was impressed with how tasty and perfectly cooked most of the items were. I highly recommend this buffet. Cheers!

I have finally found the best Asian restaurant in Airdrie! After trying many others in town and being disappointed, this is now our top choice for delicious Asian cuisine.

This restaurant is worth the drive from the city! There are so many options in the buffet with fantastic prices. They even take into consideration kids' ages when pricing, since they eat less than most adults. The restaurant is clean with great service and very friendly staff. We will definitely make this an annual treat, even though we live over an hour away. It's worth the drive!
