Artichoke Cafe - Albuquerque

The food was good. our server was not particularly attentive. we enjoyed our dinner.

Very good food and service was amazing. One of our favorite date night spots.

I love artichoke cafe and we come sporadically. I do *usually think it’s one of the best restaurants in ABQ (our food scene is not great). This visit was disappointing however. I ordered the scallops which is one of their signature dishes and he scallops came out perfectly cooked and tender with a nice sear but completely COLD. I actually sent back the plate because I don’t eat cold food, which I have not done in quite some time. They did remake me an entire new dish and the second came out warm as expected. The flavors were good. The only other issue was the risotto, while tasty, was clearly RUSHED and crunchy. For a $39 entree I expect better. They gave us free dessert a stingy attempt at apologizing in my honest opinion. They clearly would rather ensure they get as much money from me on this visit rather than work hard to make me want to come back. It’s so rare for a restaurant to go above and beyond to make up for poor service or food preparation. I would be embarrassed if I were the owner. Sad to leave this review as I love artichoke cafe, but you guys need to get it together.

The menu is creative and the portions are large. The pasta special- ravioli was especially tasty. Service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our evening there.

This was a special evening out and highly talked about. It’s pricey and the portions quite small. But it was delicious. If you want fancy, this is your place!
