The enchilada plate was a chaotic mess—I couldn't even identify where the enchilada was; it just looked like a jumbled mix of everything. The pozole was disappointing as well; it consisted mainly of meat and a small amount of hominy, lacking the usual accompaniments like cabbage, radishes, and oregano that are standard at most Mexican restaurants. When we asked the bartender about it, he simply replied, "Oh, you should have had it." Thanks for the recommendation, bartender. The red chile cup was decent, and I must say the sopapillas were delicious. When the overly confident bartender finally inquired about our meal as he was waiting for a tip, we honestly told him that the food just wasn't good. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. I got the impression the establishment thinks too highly of itself.
We were in town for the balloon fiesta and Sadie's was recommended by the hotel. The wait was very long and the food a complete disappointment. Our order arrived so quickly I thought they had the wrong table. The meals come with bland diced potatoes and pinto beans. There was some flavorless orange American cheese on the beans and very coarsely chopped raw white onions. The carne adovada was good and the combination plate was ok too but nothing special. Both the red and green salsa were good and I guess that from the amount they brought you are supposed to cover your entire meal with salsa and call it good. They serve pre-prepared food quicker than Taco Bell. The menu does not have prices for drinks so I ended up paying $20 for two below average margaritas that were served in 16 ounce water glasses. I can't understand how they stay in business.
We visited Sadie's yesterday and were deeply disappointed with the food. We ordered the chile rellenos, chicken enchiladas, and the carne adovada combination plate, and everything tasted so similar that it was hard to distinguish one dish from another. The flavors were bland, and there was certainly no spice to be found. What has happened to Sadie's? We won't be returning; it was truly disappointing. We used to live in Albuquerque and fondly remember the original restaurant above the bowling alley, as well as their move to the new location. Such a shame.
Came here for breakfast. Everything was so delicious! Customer service was great. Everyone here seemed busy working, it was a busy morning for them and they were handling everything very well. I can't wait to come back for some more good meals.
If you're in the area, you definitely need to check this place out! The food is fantastic, the portions are generous, and the service is top-notch. Despite being busy, especially during the balloon festival weekend, we waited less than 5 minutes for a table. We tried the taquitos, three tacos, and my son ordered the Duke City Dip. The brisket was incredible, and everything was fresh and made to order. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. We ended our meal with fried ice cream, which was delightful. We'll be returning the next time we're in town!
