The Kitchen - Alexandria Bay

Placed an order today. I understand it is out of season in the area, but I'm here year round. The online system (for pickup) accepted the order, the restaurant text me and email, and my credit card was charged. When I went to pick up my order at the time provided in the text message, the restaurant was completely closed. I called, and the restaurant is clearly seasonal.In no part of the online website is it indicated this is a seasonal restaurant, nor does it indicate on Google. Additionally, the system shouldn't be accepting payment while the restaurant is completely closed.I've called and left a message and I'm hoping to get my money back in a timely manner. Depending on the response from the owner, I can update my response and hopefully get a chance to try the food at another date.Edit: Got a response same day from the restaurant and a refund was issued. Fixing the rating to ensure this isn't impacting the restaurant.

The outdoor setting is delightful, whether you choose to sit on the patio or in the beautifully landscaped yard. The service is exceptional, with meticulous attention to detail. The menu is diverse and intriguing, featuring perfectly prepared dishes. The pizza is gourmet, and all the food is fresh and delicious. I've visited several times, and it has never let me down, so I highly recommend it.

The food was fantastic, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the service was quite disappointing. Our appetizer never arrived, and it took nearly 45 minutes for our three pasta dishes to be served. We were the first table seated that evening, so the restaurant wasn't busy. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't check on us at all during our meal; we had to look for her to settle the bill while she chatted with coworkers at the bar. When you're spending over $35 per plate, you expect a higher level of service. I might give them another chance, but the service definitely fell short of expectations.

I did see some reviews mentioning wait times of up to an hour for meals, but we waited about 40 minutes. Keep in mind that this isn't fast food—everything is made fresh. If you're in a rush, you might want to head to the corner pizzeria for a quick slice instead.

Nice location and cool atmosphere. Food prices at-par for the region and economy. Service was comprehensively poor and did not justify the price, however.The inside dining room was empty except us and one other table, yet our server did not approach us for ~15 mins after we sat down. Food took more than an hour to arrive and server showed no empathy for our wait time. The other table in the room was having a similar experience based on our interactions with them.It was clear that both kitchen and staff were strained, yet no effort was made by wait staff or management to explain the delay. The complete lack of communication made us feel more like intruders than guests.It was a truly awkward and frustrating experience and I could not possibly justify spending my money here again.
