La Venta Salas se ha quedado a unos cien metros del asfalto y para llegar a ella hay que entrar dando varias vueltas por diversas rotondas en dirección a Algodonales. Por eso, es la menos frecuentada de las ventas de la zona, especialmente por los autobuses. Para ayudarte a llegar, toma la salida hacia Algodonales; mientras desciendes, sigue en dirección, pero cuando comiences a subir, no vayas hacia Algodonales, sino en sentido contrario. Esto es si vienes desde Jerez; si lo haces desde Ronda, entonces tienes un acceso directo. A pesar de ello, siempre paro en Venta Salas. Tiene los mejores precios de la zona, por ejemplo, un menú casero a ocho euros o un refresco y un montadito a dos euros. Las almas de la venta eran María en la cocina y Miguel en la barra. Eran dos personas excepcionales con una cualidad poco común en los negocios familiares de carretera: servían muy rápido. He estado en algunas ventas donde te dan ganas de echarte una siesta ante la falta de prisa del personal. Esta cualidad la han sabido transmitir a sus hijos, quienes ahora llevan la Venta Hermanos Salas. Es difícil encontrar hermanos que se lleven bien, pero aquí se nota el buen ambiente y aun antes de llegar a la barra ya te están preguntando qué deseas. Pero, sobre todo, siempre paro en esta Venta para comer sus famosos filetitos de cerdo. Hay platos más conocidos como el potaje con tagarninas o el venado en salsa, pero para mí, nada se compara con sus filetitos de cerdo. Precisamente hoy fui a Algodonales y me detuve para tomar un descafeinado con un filetito de cerdo. Hace muchos años descubrí que en la parte trasera de la venta crían sus propios cerdos en semilibertad, alimentándolos no con pienso, sino con los recursos naturales del clima mediterráneo de media montaña, a los pies de la Sierra de Líjar. Posiblemente esa sea la razón de lo sabrosos que están. Tienen un comedor pequeño por dentro, pero en el porche, bajo la parra, caben varias mesas, y delante, al aire libre, disponen de una amplia zona ajardinada con magníficas vistas a Zahara de la Sierra y montes cercanos. Por todo ello, cuando pases por esta zona, te recomiendo que hagas una parada, ya que realmente merece la pena. Abren todos los días de 8:30 a 20:00, pero si es festivo o reservas, seguro que no encontrarás sitio.
