The Hat (the Original) - Alhambra

I visited another The Hat location in Temple City a few weeks ago and can confidently say that the taste and quality are consistent across all locations. I ordered the Pastrami Dip once more and was very pleased. The portion of pastrami is generous for the price. If you're looking to be health-conscious, consider sharing one between two people and add some greens from somewhere else! Just a heads up, it can get a bit messy to enjoy.

This restaurant has been one of my favorites for a long time and really sets the bar high for pastrami sandwiches. I've been dining here for 25 years, and the food is still just as delicious as ever. The pastrami is outstanding, and the chili cheese fries are massive. The menu features plenty of other tempting items that always draw me back. Although the portions remain generous, they are perfect for sharing—or keeping all to yourself! When I first visited as a teenager, I could easily finish an entire pastrami sandwich along with a large plate of chili cheese fries. Nowadays, I usually share the fries with my three kids just to make a dent in the portion. If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend checking it out; you won't be disappointed. For those who haven't visited in a while, the restaurant now boasts a larger back parking lot and bench-style tables in the seating area.
