Ateneo - Almodóvar del Río

Fui a Almódovar a visitar el castillo, tenía claro que no quería comer cerca de él, sino más alejado. Así que pasé de Tripadvisor y usé la técnica a extinguir y más útil que es preguntar. Y no pudieron acertar mejor. Un lujo, comer en diciembre en la terraza, en una plaza pintoresca andaluza. La comida de una calidad precio más que excelente. Cañas a 1.50!!!. Hacía años que no pagaba eso. Ya podían los hosteleros del norte de España seguir el ejemplo, donde hasta en el pueblo más remoto y escondido han subido los precios al infinito. Así dan ganas de volver.

Está en el centro del pueblo. La comida está rica y son guisos tradicionales por lo general. Hay también platos de caza. El salón es amplio y luminoso. Los precios son adecuados a lo que sirven.

We visited this great restaurant twice during our holiday to Almodóvar del Rio, our meals were excellent, the owner was very welcoming and the lovely lady chef produces great flavours, I had the fillet of beef which was meltingly tender and my partner the baked cod, so fresh and tasty. We would thoroughly recommend a visit and wished we had another night in the area so we could sample more of the menu. Five stars from us.

Best meal we had all trip. The Chef came out and spoke to us for a while about the dishes and local history….it was such a treat. The service was friendly and attentive.

In the middle of the little picturesque Almodovar del Rio you can find this lovely restaurant. With a nice table outside on the square we had dinner. Quick and excellent service, good choice of local and seasonal meals with meat or fish. The food is of good quality with reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
