Five Guys - Alpine Township

I'd been once before a few years ago, but apparently forgot to write a review. I recall my first visit being pretty good, so I stopped by for dinner last night. I got a bacon cheese hot dog, cheese burger (both with everything) and of course the well known fries. The hot dog was good, but not great, although I will say the bacon was crispy which was nice. I also liked that the dog was split which i think made it easier to eat. The hamburger was great, but not excellent. A bit hard to eat with everything, the bun wasnt anything special but the meat was nice and juicy. Better than any major chain, not THE best burger, but probably top 5 in the area. The fries were the piece de resistance. Fresh, hand cut and crispy. Generous portions, a bit greasy but most not soggy. I'm not saying there aren't better fries out there, but I'd be hard pressed to name any that are off the top of my head. They lived up to the hype and did not disappoint. Only could have been better if they offered poutine. I also liked that they order a limited menu. Better to offer a few items and make them really well than have an extensive menu of mediocre food.

I don't get the hype. Yeah it's a good burger but for the price it's just not worth it. I can get one of the best burgers on the planet at the cottage bar for the same price.

I went there just this last sunday and order 4 burgers and an order of fries. When we walked in there was one other group of 4 people there and that was all. When we got home we discovered that every burger was wrong. We had 2 singles 1 double an 1 in a bowl. They had mixed all of the toppings up. There wasnt a single burger that was right. I called to say something and they took my information. And said that the district manager would be contacting me. They said that they were extremely busy and it happens. So far 1 week later I still have not heard from anyone. Very disappointing.

ALL THE WAY is the only way here! I really like five guys. Their fries are great and freshly cut. Be sure to add some malt vinegar to the fries, it's awesome. I've had the regular cheese burger a few times, it ends up a big sloppy, blissful mess. I've learned to go with the little cheese now. All the way includes mushrooms, onions and all the other regular toppings. Soda dispenser is pretty sweet. Have ever tried orange flavored verners soda... Me neither, it sounds disgusting. But if you want it you can get it here.

Sadly No shakes here, what a shame. Was informed they just dont have the space for them, so.. what can you do. Good burgers as always. Only 3 outa 5 guys working...hence.. 3/5 stars.
