Great sports bar vibe with friendly service great eating! I had the smoked main rib with greenbeans mac cheese. it was amazing.

I was everywhere in the USA North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wyoming, North Dakota, Michigan. I had the best food in all places in the Middle West. Tonight we stayed at Claxon on vacation and had the best food I had? ve ever eaten from any place I've ever been. We could not believe the amount of food, quality and amazing taste. Kim was a great server, great atmosphere and filled us in the history of the smokehouse. If you haven't been here yet, you must make the trip. 10/10 we will be in Des Moines the next time!

We started with an appetizer of cheese curds. They were fat, but really good. After the big part I decided to share the 2 meats and 2 sides of combo with my husband. First the pages! We fried Okra and Mac and cheese. My favorite of the 2 was definitely the roasted Okra. Huge fan of everything they enjoyed! The Mac and the cheese were all right. I also have to try a bite of Jalapeno okra Cornbread. That was sooooo good! Now the meat: The Cajun Quarter Chicken was acceptable, but also a little dry. Beef brisket was good; not the best of all times, but good. All that really matters is this place better than Jethros!

Service was great. Everything was good. Get the ribs. Great smoke taste, but her home sauce is a little different. Good, but different.

Brisket was served thick but was juicy well marbled, seasoned smoked just right with a flaky solid bite. Served with a fluffy bun. Original Sauce was not too sweet with a little kick but the hot was great flavor heat! Mashed potatoes were recommended by the waiters and were excellent, creamy very flavorful. Okra Corn Bread was unique tasty goodness came w jalapeño butter. Mac cheese was light and cheesy perfect al dente spirals w shredded cheese top.
