Caliza - Alys Beach

Incredible, look no further for the best dining experience in Rosemary/Alys area. We had a large party celebrating an event and Gray the entire Caliza team went above and beyond to make the experience perfect and memorable. The ambiance was dreamy, the food was unbelievable don't skip the dip trio appetizer, the pesto pasta burrata, and the P P Smash cocktail. We did a set menu and cocktail it was delicious. Absolutely the highlight of our trip and can't wait to be back.

I arrived at 5:40 (they open at 5:30) to find an empty restaurant with no reservations... not a single table was occupied inside. The hostess was very rude in informing me that they were reservation-only for the entire evening...on a Tuesday...despite the restaurant being empty. I understand the need for reservations due to COVID, but there is a way to implement this policy without making customers feel unwelcome at your exclusive establishment.

Food-1.5 Service-1.5 Ambiance-4.5 We went with a group of 6 and all 6 of us said we would not be back. We come down to 30A every year and we always enjoy the local restaurants. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:48 and were seated right upon arriving. We ordered our entire meal just before 8:20 and did not get it until just after 9:15 and the restaurant was about 40% occupancy. Between our entire party, we ordered 3 apps, 1 salad, 1 soup, 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, 5 mixed cocktails for a total of $309.75. Definitely not worth the price for the food and very very slow service. For apps we had the burrata toast (not very creamy and lacking flavor), Florida shrimp ocopa (not bad but thought the fried potatoes were overpowering and could not taste the shrimp), house made ravioli (didn't taste it but all 5 at the table said it was ok). Two entrees pork schnitzel (best entree we had but was very bland and needed to be seasoned better), seared North Carolina Flounder (fish was very dry (over cooked) and really lacked flavor). Overall there are so many good restaurants on 30A that have phenomenal food and service and this one just did not make the list as we had hoped.
