Slim Chickens - Amarillo

I visit this place every now and then. When I misplaced my credit card, it was really convenient to order online and just pick up my food. Their extended hours until around 10:00 PM also allow me to stop by after late activities when I’m feeling hungry. I typically opt for the kids meal, which costs about $5. While prices have been increasing everywhere, it's still around $5 to $6 here. The meal comes with two sides, and I've enjoyed it both in my car and inside the restaurant. Additionally, if you sign up for their app and rewards program, you receive emails or texts about special offers. I've taken advantage of these promotions a few times for meals like chicken and waffles or a three-piece chicken dinner, making it a budget-friendly option. The cashiers are usually very friendly and pleasant as well.

I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant after 10 PM. The staff seems indifferent to what they serve, despite the high prices. I went last night (January 2, 2023) around 10 PM through the drive-thru, and we ordered meals only to discover that all the chicken tenders were old, hard, and burnt—this is not an exaggeration. We didn’t realize this until we got home, which is about a 10-minute drive away. To make matters worse, each meal came with extra old, dry, and burnt chicken, likely because they were trying to clear out their leftovers. The fries were cold, hard, and dry, as if they had been sitting out all day. None of the food was even slightly warm! It was so inedible that we could have choked trying to swallow it. Someone needs to address this issue; I have my receipt and photos as proof.

I've never been to this restaurant, so I can't comment on its quality.

First, I want to personally thank Destiny and her friend Tater Tots for personally inviting me to try the food here, which was awesome!! The Chick Meal was amazing and the complimentary Strawberry Cheesecake in a Jar was an unexpected addition. I will definitely stop at this location again when I travel through Amarillo and I highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a good chicken meal served with a smile. BRAVO!!

Absolutely terrible. Got the classic with grilled chicken and unsweet tea via drive thru. The chicken was dry and no taste, seemed to be microwaved. The chicken was at best 3 ounces. The fries seemed to have been soaking in grease, extremely greasy. My first and last visit to Slim
