Welch Ave Station - Ames

I've never had a bad experience at this place. It's more of a laid-back bar than a club. Just be ready for a wait if you visit during busy hours, as it can get quite crowded. If you're hungry, Pizza Pit is conveniently located right above you.

I had an excellent experience here! A friend who used to attend Iowa State recommended this place, and I can see why he came here often. They have a great selection of beers, and even though it was busy, the staff took the time to help me choose one. It was a bit strange that their rotating beer options seemed to take a while to change, and I found it hard to read the menu. I suggest just chatting with the bartender instead. They also sell T-shirts for $18.

Wonderful sports bar in the heart of Campustown. A chill atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy yourself. Definitely, not your average college bar.

I've gone quite a few times now, either for the cheap margaritas on Saturdays or to play pool, sometimes both. A bit of a crowded layout, but if you're able to claim a spot you can try one of their many interesting drinks.
