Írjon visszajelzéstI stayed here for a work conference that was also held at the hotel. I was nervous about some of the reviews but I was perfectly pleased with my stay. The room was clean and well appointed. I stayed in the West Tower, which I suspect may be where rooms have been renovated. The check-in and check-out process was friendly and efficient. I was also pleased with the baggage hold service after I checked out but still needed an area to hold my bags until after my conference had wrapped up.Housekeeping came after my first overnight and replenished towels but didn't make the bed. This wasn't a big deal for me as a single traveler but might be an issue for others.Coffee at the cafe downstairs was quick and the staff was kind. The conference included a breakfast buffet, a seated lunch and an evening reception. Food and service at all meals were great; we were well taken care of.The convenience store inside the hotel has snacks and beverages, as well as any souvenirs you might want to take back to your kids. :)The homeless population has been mentioned in other reviews but I felt safe in and around the property. It is very close to shopping and restaurants. Our group included mostly women and we felt secure traveling in groups on foot.I belong to a loyalty program with another chain so I would likely stay somewhere else in the future but as long as you request to be in a renovated part of the building, I think you will be plenty happy and comfortable.
The staff was amazing. Close to many restaurants. Has a souvenir shop that opens late. I was not happy about the coffee shop closing at 2 pm. Other than that, it's a good place to stay.
Nice hotel and with what you should expect from experience and service. That said, the Parking fees are ridiculous. $25 a night without any real security. A card gets you access into it but you just drive out without any security stopping you. Meaning a thief could easily Jack your vehicle because there’s no preventable way to stop them leaving. Anchorage downtown has a major problem with belligerent people all over. Most seem drunk but often they seem crazy too. Doesn’t make you feel safe at all especially if you are a woman. Not Hiltons direct fault but I’m sure they could pressure the city to change the problem.Safety: That said, the Parking fees are ridiculous. $25 a night without any real security. Low quality for a Hilton brand. You would expect more booking a Hilton brand hotel, but the feel at this hotel is generally outdated and a little dirty. It isn’t terrible just not up to par with general Hilton hotels.
As if the anchorage Hilton couldn’t get any worse… they removed their one redeeming quality: the bench in their steam room. I’m forced to stay here a lot for work and besides the sewage backing up in the sinks; broken showers and sinks; lack of hot water; broken room door handles; closing their executive lounge (after Covid ; ice machines never working; horrible food (although I’ve refused to eat here for years so maybe it’s better ; etc., their gym and steam room WERE decent. I haven’t been forced to stay here since early 2023 and this time when I opened the steam room door, I realized a Hilton brand hotel wasn’t willing to buy a $100 (heck maybe even $500 if they’re feeling fancy bench for their facilities. This was the icing on the cake of how horrible this hotel is. I’ve unfortunately spent more than 100 nights here (and plenty of other Hilton properties as a diamond member and anyone who can should stay at the Captain Cook (right down the street and usually cheaper ! Or the Marriott, or the Sheraton, or the anchorage hotel, or anywhere else that isn’t here! The staff do their best with no resources but the physical hotel and the management is an embarrassment to the Hilton brand. And yes, I contacted management and the Hilton diamond desk when sewage backed up in my sink. The diamond desk offered to pay for me to stay at another hotel (they suggested the Cook… while anchorage Hilton management tried to move me to a room where there was a leak that had already soaked the entire floor with water. I’m still convinced no one from Hilton corporate has ever been here because they would strip the name off the building in a heartbeat. And as I was just leaving the gym I noticed the faucet hardware was leaking, because of course it was.Edit: I forgot to mention the heat doesn’t work in most of the rooms I’ve stayed in. This is fine for October but the icicles inside the windows are a bit much in the winter.
