Captain D's - Andalusia

Came by here today for lunch. I was impressed. Think Long John Silvers but way better. I went through the drive through and got a combo plate that had 2 pieces of fish and 6 shrimp. It came with fries and 2 hushpuppies. Everything was good. It was greasy as far as on your fingers, but not greasy in your stomach. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would have. The fish was tasty, the shrimp were great, the fries were real good and the hushpuppies tasted alright. Washed it down with a Coke. Total was just over $10 bucks. Ill be back sometime next week for lunch.

My husband, child and I have ate here about 4 times in the past month. We love the food but the service is really poor. The women that work up front never smile they simply ask you what you want and yell it out to the back. It takes a while for you to get your food and half the light bulbs are out above the tables. Like I said before we really like the food but the service really needs improving. Update: I'm not sure what they have changed as far as management etc but the service has really improved.

The manager of Captain D's in Andalusia Al Her name is zabreya Lane she was so helpful and kind she even help us out extremely food was delicious restaurant was clean bathroom was clean everything was cooked good and did not take long as all to get are food we got it kick I want to recommend her with 5 stars Meal type: Lunch

My last three visits have been disappointing. The fish was not only smaller but also greasier than usual. I ordered fries that tasted dry and stale, as if they had been made long before I arrived. The sweet tea was overwhelmingly sweet, with far too much sugar. The broccoli was bland and overcooked, turning into mush. While the service was polite and attentive, it doesn't compensate for the subpar food.

This is the closest we get to seafood, and we enjoy it! I understand that some people don’t consider it authentic seafood, but for us non-seafood eaters, it tastes pretty good.
