The Golden City - Angus

Waited 45 mins which would have been ok except 3 smaller orders taken after ours got their food first. When we got the 6 miles home food was still really hot but one of the main courses missing. Fortunately portions large enough for there to be enough to dish out but too fed up to ring cos I wasn't going back. Both dry and gravied ribs were like biltong. Salt and chili wings and spring roll however really good. Satay beef while tasty should've been called satay veg; the beef was hard to find. Sweet and sour king prawn balls strangely has an undercooked texture to the batter but were quite nice. Based on how popular this place is we might have just been unlucky but won't be risking a return visit. Just too much was wrong.

Got a take away from the Golden City as going out for meals gets quite expensive when you're on holiday. We weren't disappointed! Still think Chinese restaurants are always a bit too heavy on the onions, but apart from that the food was nice, the chicken and pork fresh and the sauces weren't overly gloopy and artificial like they often are. Of course the portion sizes are large as always, so keep that in mind when ordering, unless you want some left overs for the day after! :

We had a familky take away and it one of the best meals we have had , it was made quickly and was tasy aswell ...we shall be back

First visit but enjoyed a Honey Chilli Special from here on Christmas Day as just back from holiday. Pleasant and friendly service, would return.

All in all just what you expect. Decent food and prices. Good service too. Pretty decent menu as well.
