Abelardo's Mexican Fresh - Ankeny

The burritos were tasty, but the meat was overcooked or left out too long, making it dry. Additionally, the churros were severely overcooked or fried in oil that was too dark.

I had a great experience at this fast food Mexican restaurant! The carne asada burrito was delicious and the sauces were amazing. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I hope to come back soon to try their tamales.

This restaurant in Iowa offers the highest quality Mexican food I have ever tasted. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it even rivals the Mexican food I grew up eating in LA. We make sure to come here every time we are craving Tacos or Burritos.

If you get food here prepare for a wait. It’s worth it though. My husband likes to get burritos and tacos mostly and I usually get a tostada

Awesome and tasty food. Didn’t have Chile Relleno’s so got two orders of Carnitas Combo. Served with Pico de Gallo and guacamole and large flour tortilla! Green salsa was just right and red was spicy. Was missing Mexican food on this trip and this was perfect. Called order in at 9:40 and picked up at 10 which was closing time for dine-in and drive-thru. Cashier was friendly and was wearing a mask and gloves.
