Chia Shiang - Ann Arbor

If you're visiting for the classic vegan dishes, unfortunately, they are no longer on the menu. While there are still tofu options available, the mock meat items have been removed. However, they will be open on Christmas.

Awful service. The chef smoked in the common area just two tables away from us while we were eating. The waitress got our order wrong, and we received no service while all the staff enjoyed their meals. We left a 10% tip, and they even came to our table asking for at least 15%. The food was overpriced and mediocre. There are many better options around Ann Arbor for traditional Chinese cuisine. I will not be coming back.

It used to be a great authentic restaurant that I would drive 40 minutes to enjoy my favorite dishes. However, I believe the chef has left, and every dish now tastes different, even though the menu remains the same. What a disappointment! I won’t be returning.

I gave them 3 stars on google review since the fish is way too spicy and tofu doesn't have any taste. I am a Chinese and a Shanghainese, of course I know what to expect for these 2 dishes. The owner replied to my review and insisted the fish is ok and reason why the tofu doesn't have any other taste is because of the spicy fish. What a customer service and the reluctant attitude to improve. Good luck to your business!

We did carry out during the pandemic. Didn't get dumplings but ordered from rest of menu. Mapo tofu. Fried rice noodles with beef. Spicy beef tendon. Fried prawns. Good portions. Prompt service. Flavors are quite good.
