Írjon visszajelzéstNice place to have a drink with friends. The food is nothing special, they have an amazing view of the subway. Not far from town and definitely not among the EDSA billboards. What is good. Law? Anyway, they have a wide variety of drinks, shakes and especially alcoholic beverages to bring you that buzz. They serve Filipino and international dishes. They also have a huge plate of nachos. Really a perfect addition to a great Filipino cold beer and a lovely nighttime skyline.
When: Sunday afternoon (by reservation) Order: 2 set meal, Sinigang na Tuna Belly, Chicken Inasal When we arrived there were only 5 tables occupied. 1. The waiter did not inform us about the waiting time. 2. Whenever we follow up on our order, they don't give us a specific time. 3. Our order came after 1 hour and it's not hot (including the rice) 4. Our tuna belly only contained 5 small (cube-shaped) meats. That's not worth 308 pesos. 5. Chicken Inasal was dry and doesn't taste like one. 6. You didn't even apologize for the orders being late. 7. Nobody thanked any of us (we were 14 people) when we left. We passed the cashier and she didn't even thank us. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and there is no way I will be back. I regret visiting this place.
ZomatoxABSCBN Marikina / Antipolo Food Crawl: Our first stop was Cafe Lupe. It is a garden-themed bed & breakfast overlooking Metro Manila. THE FOOD We had their Paella (Regular – P600 / Big – P1,200). It is big enough to feed a lot of people! I also appreciate that they made the effort to use the shorter, rounder rice for this. Their Baby Back Ribs (P325) was OUTSTANDING! It is steamed for 5 hours, so it’s tender, yet juicy. It was meaty, sweet, spicy and fruity. Try it with the sauce! Everybody kept coming back for this until all the baby back ribs were wiped out. Their Beef Kansi with Batuan (P385) is unique. Not many restaurants in Metro Manila offer kansi. It is like a bulalo and sinigang combined, with batuan used as the souring agent. I liked it. IMPRESSIONS Cafe Lupe a simple and down-to-earth place, that can probably comfortably seat around 30 people inside. There’s a bar so I think it turns into a drinking spot at night. Recommended dishes: Baby Back Ribs, and Beef Kansi with Batuan. Also try their house blend iced tea, it has a hint of mango. baratako.com
Years ago, Cafe Lupe first opened its restaurant in Guadalupe, Makati and offered Filipino and Tex-Mex dishes as well as a fantastic view. Their Guadalupe branch has since closed, and they've reopened in the hills of Antipolo, with a great view of Metro Manila at night. It is not far from Valley Golf Club, if the route you take is Marikina-Marcos Highway, and it is high enough for you to enjoy the night lights and the sight of airplanes flying in and out of the airport. Visitors to Antipolo will find Cafe Lupe a good choice for lunch, evening drinks, and hearty meals with a touch of Ilonggo influence, particularly if you're a fan of classics such as KBL (Kadios Baboy Langka), made with kadios beans, pork belly, and stewed langka or jackfruit, or Beef Kansi, both of which are a rarity in Metro Manila restaurants. Zomato and ABS-CBN hosted my visit, where we sampled the two dishes above, as well as a hearty seafood paella, good for twenty, and a hefty cut of glazed ribs with a glorious zing of pepper and the sweetness of mango. My favorite dishes of this visit were the Beef Kansi, which uses fresh batwan citrus as a souring agent, tinged with a bit of tomato, the meat soft without losing firmness; and the 5-hour baked ribs I just mentioned, which come, strangely enough, with one cup of rice, though I'd say it's good for 2-3. The ribs are a must-order. The paella is quite beautiful and filling, but I'd like to suggest they work on enriching the flavor of the paella stock, since the flavor of the rice is at the core of the dish, perhaps even more than the garnishes. Ambience-wise it is more bar than restaurant, and they have overnight accommodations adjacent to the bar. #HungerGames #ZomatoxABSCBN #TheFoodCrawlers #AntipoloFoodTrip
