Manuel's Mexican - Aptos

I grew up in this area and have had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant since my early days. As a vegetarian, I’ve always loved their cheese enchiladas – they’re the best I’ve ever had! The service is friendly, and even if there's a wait, it's worth it for every delicious bite. I particularly enjoy visiting during the rainy weekdays in the off-season. I highly recommend trying the half Manny's Salad with the quesadilla and a side of flour or corn tortillas to make your own burritos, along with either a half or full order of arroz and frijoles.

I've been dining here since around 1974, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal or poor service! This place is fantastic, and the chips and salsa are incredible! The portions are so generous that we often take half of our meal home, and it's just as delicious when warmed up the next day! My husband insists that there's a Mexican grandma cooking in the kitchen! I hope you reach your 100—make sure to plan a celebration!

This place has been our family's favorite since I was a kid. My aunt and dad have been coming here even longer than I've been alive. We moved from Santa Cruz to Connecticut 24 years ago and then to Atlanta, but we still make it a point to visit every chance we get. During our trips, we order lots of beef burritos and freeze them to take home. We hope to have enough to last until our next visit to Santa Cruz! I'm currently enjoying my last burrito for lunch before heading back in two weeks!

I grew up in this city for 23 years (until I couldn't afford it anymore). Every time I visit SC (at least 2x/year) I go here as soon as I arrive and as often as I can before I go! The food and salsa is UNMATCHED! enchilada plate is my favorite! Her house made guacamole is also for dying! Not only that, but the servers are all very nice and it is very community-driven! This summer they even gave me a bouquet of Dahlias for my wedding! The best place, food and people in town!

This was my first visit. The service was friendly and very fast. This food was magnificent! #3 cheese enchilada and chili relleno) Don't bother buying a ala carte since it's only about a dollar more for the entire entry selection. Cool decor and history. Loved it and highly recommend.
