Plaza Grill - Arcata

My favorite Chinese restaurant in all of Humboldt County! I practically lived there while attending HSU. Make sure to get there before 3 PM to take advantage of the lunch special. You get so much food for such a low price; I could easily eat on one lunch special for two days! You have your choice of a main entree, a soup, an egg roll or a crab cheese puff, and fried or steamed rice. I highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken and the hot and sour soup—both are delicious!

The dining experience here is exceptional, complemented by a wonderful staff and a fantastic atmosphere. This is the perfect place to enjoy an outstanding dinner amidst beautiful historical architecture. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating, always striving to make sure guests feel welcome and attended to. Whenever I'm here, my water glass is never empty, thanks to their attentiveness. The team works seamlessly to clear tables quickly, ensuring a smooth and efficient service. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!

This is the perfect place to take out-of-town guests. The atmosphere is visually striking, the service is excellent, and the meals are incredibly delicious. I ordered the halibut dinner, while others in my party had the ribeye, shepherd's pie, and mac and cheese. I sampled a bit of each dish, and they were all so good that we all decided to come back and reorder! For our appetizer, we had the buffalo wings, which were flawless and exactly what I was hoping for. The building itself is interesting to explore, with small shops on every side. Plus, there’s a Chase ATM located on the third floor, and an original staircase in the middle of the building that you can use as well.

I apologize for the funky photos; the lighting creates a great atmosphere but makes capturing clear images a bit challenging. This place is definitely worth a visit. The dining area is quite spacious, and the menu offers a wide variety of options, along with daily specials that are genuinely unique. The dishes are not only pleasing to the eye but also delightful for the palate. A true feast for everyone!

The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the beautiful older building. the ambiente is like in a restaurant in la or san francisco. eating is very good. I recommend it. the service is very good. they are very attentive. highly recommended, if at all in this northern California.
