An interesting combination of remnants and fish market. We had the Eggs Benedict with salmon (upgrade). It was very good. A pretty combination.
After a week in Newfoundland without any lobster (the season ends in July up there we were craving lobster in any form. We stopped at the St. Peters visitor center (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! and were told that the Arichat Seafood Market had the best rolls in...the area. We drove over the bridge to Isle Madame and the market. They have a lunch special of a lobster roll and seafood chowder which we both ordered and it was fantastic. The lobster was fresh as was the seafood in the chowder. The waitress was very friendly and even suggested things to see before leaving the area. Highly Recommended!
You can either buy fresh seafood (incl. live lobster) at this place or dine in and out with freshly made sandwiches and chowders. I had crab meat sandwich and a clam chowder which were both fresh and tasty!
We have visited this restaurant before to purchase frozen crab in the shell, which tastes amazing after steaming. My husband prefers to cook live crabs in ocean water when they are in season and they taste just as good! Today, we went to get crab but decided to have lunch as well. The restaurant has around 10 tables and is located in a market where they have live scallops in tanks that look like fountains – very cool! I ordered the special of the day, which was a salad with shrimp and scallops. The salad was packed with greens, nuts, tomatoes, cranberries, red peppers, onions, and fresh tarragon dressing. Despite not liking raw onions, the salad was so delicious that I took the time to pick out every piece of onion as I ate. It took me 30 minutes to eat and dissect the salad, but it was worth every minute. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. It was the best salad I have ever had. If I had to, I would definitely pick out another onion to enjoy it again. My husband had a good laugh watching me meticulously remove the onions. In the end, all I left on the plate were small pieces of onion. Jeannie Stone.
