Bonsai Grill - Arlington

This is a small but cozy restaurant! The sashimi is incredibly fresh, and I enjoyed every piece. The steak is juicy and packed with flavor, and it pairs perfectly with rice. However, the soy sauce and wasabi could be improved. I wouldn't recommend the tempura as it’s too heavily breaded, and the noodle dishes lack flavor.

I ordered the special sushi roll ($17 for 10 pieces) and the chicken yakisoba ($19). I had high hopes for the sushi, but I have to admit it was just average, nothing remarkable, and it was served very cold. The yakisoba had a bit more flavor, but it didn't stand out either. Given the prices, I was expecting much higher quality food. The atmosphere is decent—it's a small but cozy place, and the staff were friendly.

As seasoned sushi enthusiasts, we were passing through town and craving sushi, so we decided to try Bonsai Grill based on its reviews. The sushi was fantastic! We ordered the sushi sampler and absolutely loved it. Just as it should be, the slices of fish were generous, easily overshadowing the rice. The sushi chef truly knows their craft—the fish was incredible. From the salmon to the yellowtail, tuna, and eel, everything was excellent. Even though we were already satisfied, we couldn't resist ordering the shrimp and vegetable tempura. I would rate this place highly for sure!

An unfussy neighborhood sushi and ramen restaurant, with great food at great prices. The place is rather small and slightly cramped, with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a sushi bar. Service is great, and even when busy they look after you. While the sushi is good, the ramen is exceptional. The spicy pork belly ramen is an absolute treat, and is an entire meal by itself.

Uneasy about when we eat out because I?m a chef myself, we were in town and decided we wanted Japanese food for dinner. We walked into this quaint little restaurant and we were immediately greeted and a very polite young waiter attended us. I had the Japanese noodles with shrimp and my husband had the Japanese noodles with chicken. Both were superb! Fresh finely cut vegetables and the noodles cooked perfectly!
