This is a great place for a bite just off I40. Home cooking without crazy prices. Highly recommend to stop by.
Salt-of -the-Earth, locally owned, down-home breakfast lunch diner. If you’re looking for uptown trendy, look elsewhere. There are plenty of folks waiting for that table. If you like true Southern grub, this place might be for you. I generally recommend this restaurant for breakfast, which is served until 11 am, but I had lunch today, only because it was too late for the excellent breakfast menu. I was a little stumped as to what to order, as I don’t eat burgers, which occupy most of the lunch menu. I settled on the chicken cheese steak with a side of fried okra. I always appreciate a restaurant offering fried okra, so I was very pleased that they were willing to swap out the fries for my side of choice. The hoagie bun was a bit chewy, but otherwise the sandwich was flavorful and filling. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the place was clearly short staffed. I always feel bad for the staff in these circumstances and truly hope that they get more people doing, as this is a busy restaurant that is well-loved by the local community. It is clear that the rest supports the community as well, which I always appreciate. Wheelchair accessibility: It would be pretty hard to navigate a wheel chair through the restaurant due to narrow access points. There is a handicap parking spot, but I don’t think this would help much. If you are able to walk at all, I would recommend bring the narrow walker or a cane. It is a very short distance to get inside the building.
This place is not dog friendly unless it's a service dog. They have outside seating, but they don't like to serve outside because they only have two people working. I mentioned they need to take dog friendly of the web.
Best breakfast in the area. I just wish they were open on Saturday...
