Trattoria La Rosa - ASSISI

While staying in nearby Assisi, we took a little drive to see the beautiful Basilica of Sainta Maria degli Angeli. We had dinner at the Trattoria La Rosa, located very close to the church. We started with a bottle of wine and bread, We ordered the Bruschetta Misto. The mixed bruschetta was the best I had during our month long visit to Italy. We got a plate 5 different things, tomato, olive oil, zucchini and two different olive bruchetta. We cut each in half and enjoyed every bite. The next course was Taglatella alla Rosa, which was a pasta with garlic, prosciutto, mushrooms and truffles. The portion was perfect for us to split. I will try to make these myself, now that I am home, wish I could also recreate the Italian charm, too. Have fun!

The place was close to the church and to our hotel. We had the pizza and a few other dishes. It was good but not great. Reasonably priced with a nice family atmosphere.

All very delicious. Colorful, delicious and particular bruschettas. The first called Cappellacci alla Marius was a total taste experience. I would love to try the whole menu!! Very kind staff. Very adequate quality/quantity-price ratio.

We were hungry in Assisi. We were looking for a good restaurant that is not very touristy. The restaurant is located in a side street close to the church. We arrived at the parade and were greeted with a smile. We were seated and we saw local people around us. We ordered three menu . One of pizza that included margherita pizza, bruschetta and a drink. Another meaty one that included tomato pasta and meat in a mushroom sauce alongside potatoes. And the third and last one was vegetarian and included eggplant parmesan (eggplant, tomato sauce and cheese) and pasta with vegetables. The three menus were excellent, fresh and hot! The price was fair and much cheaper than touristy restaurants found in Assisi in the ancient part. In short, very highly recommended and the service is good!

Arrived from Lucca to Assisi, The only reason to return here is for this restaurant, fantastic food and large portions, many choices of drinks, perfect service.
