China Palace - Athenry

The food was excellent, but the building was quite small. However, overall, it was a very good experience. My family and I will definitely be dining here again.

I would not recommend this restaurant. I ordered a spice bag and it was very greasy, with reheated chips. The sweet and sour king prawn dish was also terrible. It's clear that they don't put much effort into their food.

The photo of the dish was misleading. I ordered the stir-fried chicken in peanut sauce and was disappointed to find a bland, milky sauce and unappetizing pale chicken. The sauce tasted like a generic packet peanut sauce, but even worse. It was truly revolting.

We came in and made a big takeaway order (6 people). Understandably, the wait was a while but the staff were really friendly and the food was superb. Good options available for vegetarians and vegans and the menu marked very clearly which foods contained various allergens. A good choice if you want Chinese in the Athenry area.

As usual very good got lots better recently really nice food. Would be 5 star but wait times can be very long.
