El Barrio Tacos Tequila - Athens

I ordered the birria tacos and they had no flavor. My kids got a burrito and a cheese quesadilla. You can get better burritos at barbaritos and the cheese quesadilla was very dry. It wasn’t horrible but not worth coming back to in my opinion.

I recently visited this restaurant with my sister after a kickboxing session, and I must say it was a hidden gem. Since recovering from Covid last year, my sense of taste had not been the same until I tried the food here. The chorizo rice bowl with avocado, tomato, and other ingredients was incredibly fresh and delicious. The highlight was the sauce that came with it. I would highly recommend this place for a delicious meal. 10/10, definitely worth a visit.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options, and the staff is very friendly. The food has a Mexican American twist, not authentic Mexican (I am Hispanic), but it was still delicious!

Some of the worst food I’ve ever had, all the chicken tasted like old oil, the rice tasted really off, and our food sat for 15 minutes before we actually got our food. They also upcharged $4 for the chicken on the rice bowl without saying anything on the menu or to us at checkout.

Barrio salad tasty BUT needs work, need to chop the lettuce small like the beans, corn, toppings. Must chop the Carne aside into bite size pieces as one can't cut it with a cheap plastic knife bent fork. Crumble the cheese like you did on the rice bowl. Otherwise it's just a huge pile of lettuce and all the best bits fall to the bottom. Disappointed.
