Sushi Huku Japanese - Atlanta

Have been going to Sushi Huku for over a decade. Jay has honed his craft over time , trains his kitchen staff well for good consistent quality and has an attentive and friendly wait staff (rarity these days . Excellent quality but fair price so I don't mind going regularly.

The new management is sadly not the same as the one we had experienced for decades. We booked the special enclosed room for my son's 18 birthday for a family dinner a while back and confirmed day of. Service was terrible. First, they did not recognize we had booked ahead. During dinner, we had to ask for water refills. Then, at the end, they did not bring the cake we had requested with my son's name on it (giving us some lame excuse that it had to come from Japan and had not made it on time)... instead they handed him a ramune' drink a soda bottle! (the lady told us: well this is more expensive... how insulting). They provided no special celebration at all not even a scoop of ice cream! for the birthday boy. They made us feel disrespected. With the very expensive bill we paid on top of that, this is the last time we will come here. So sad. This used to be our family's special place for decades.

The service and food at the place are first rate. I’ve been going here since 2001, and have lived all over the US since then. This place is the best sushi I’ve ever had, it was even better than the best places I went when in lived in NYC. Can’t recommend this place enough, the prices are reasonable and the decor is lovely. On and added bonus for the ladies out there, this is not a joke, the Miso soup cured cured my girlfriends period pains. Again not kidding on that last point. You’re welcome, ladies.

Overpriced average and basic restaurant. Nothing special at all. Terrible service. I absolutely hate when they shove a bill in front of you. I would have ordered more but didn't. A pass for me.

Great sushi with great service. Shumai and Kaki fry are fantastic starters. Go with the Home Depot Roll.
