Jalies has a new system in place where the client has to go to the cashier and pay in full before receiving one's food and beverages order. The place looks rundown and unkempt which is a shame as in the past it was a top restaurant in the Attard area. You see employees smoking outside of the restaurant, employees taking out the rubbish in black bags in full view of the guests to the skips located next to the outdoor dining tables. There also seems to be an urgency for guests to pay and leave after 21.30. Hot beverages cannot be ordered after this time. Waiting staff start dismantling the outside tables. According to the menu food and beverages services are till 23.00. One feels unwelcome after 22.00. Other restaurants are glad to accept our patronage, Jalies sadly does not.

No more Jalie’s for me! Both sons are so rude that, after over 15 years of being a loyal customer, I have to bow out. I put up with erratic service, getting up myself to retrieve missing salt/pepper/sauces/menus/cutlery. I accepted having to go to the counter to order my food like I’m at a fast food joint. I allowed for elevated prices in spite of all this. But I will not accept being treated horribly and super arrogantly by the owners’ sons. Enough. So many other places to enjoy. No excuse EVER for rudeness.
