Sandwich City - Augusta

Good sandwiches, quiet atmosphere, with reasonable prices.

They are now closed. They had some great sandwiches and good food but unfortunately they've closed as of today (2/16/2018) to sell their building to another developer apparently. They've been a fixture in the city for a very long time.

The veggie platter was fantastic! It's common for fried vegetables to end up tasteless, but Sandwich City has really managed to avoid that issue. The okra, fried green tomatoes, cornbread, and peas I enjoyed today were full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back here again.

This restaurant offers a straightforward, classic dining experience with delicious options. Their sandwiches, such as egg and chicken salad, are quite tasty. They also serve daily breakfast and lunch specials, including lasagna, which changes regularly. The sides are varied; I tried the mac and cheese, and it was enjoyable. Don’t expect anything too fancy, but that’s not a negative! The establishment is a bit older, yet very clean. The service is friendly and efficient, making it a great value overall. I definitely recommend stopping by!

I have been a fan of Sandwich City since 1974, and it has always been fantastic. It's common for new restaurant owners to change the menu, but thankfully, Mike kept everything the same, only adding a hot bar, which is an excellent addition. He preserved all the original sandwich recipes, and it still tastes just as incredible as it did over 40 years ago! If you haven't been yet, you definitely need to give it a try!
