Muangthai Thai - Austin

This restaurant serves delicious and genuinely authentic Thai cuisine. It's one of my top picks in North Austin. I typically go for the curry, but during my last visit, I tried the crispy duck in chili sauce. The quality and flavor were outstanding and definitely worth the price.

The server was friendly and accurately took our order. However, it took 50 minutes for our food to arrive, and just as I was about to give up, it finally showed up. The presentation of the dishes was impressive, but my Pad Thai had a bit of an unusual taste. It wasn't bad, just different from what I'm used to. I initially thought it had a ketchup base, but when I inquired at checkout, I learned it was seasoned with paprika. Everything else was satisfactory, but the paprika caught me off guard. Next time, I’ll request it without paprika since I don’t think it belongs in the dish. When we arrived, the restaurant was quite busy, which contributed to the delay in our food. Additionally, I was informed that a cook/server had called out, which was another reason for the lateness. I rated this experience 4 out of 5 stars due to the wait time and the unexpected paprika, but everything else was delicious!

I typically order the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. As for appetizers, I enjoy the crab egg rolls, and my companion had the Pad Kee Mao with Thai tea. Everything was delicious. On December 29, 2021, we returned again—Happy New Year! Now, on January 30, 2022, it was time for some Thai food, so we decided to stop by once more. Just as great as before!

The atmosphere is a little different here but the food was great. I started off with some chicken eggrols, crispy on the outside delicious and tender on the inside these were gone 10 sec after they hit the table. The wonton soup was generous in portions and ingredients, sweet and tangy with nice chunks of bok choy and wontons. The yellow fried curry chicken rice was perfectly balanced with heat and spice. Will definitely be back again

Great food/ presentation. Staffs are very friendly. 4 stars for food as I find the food a bit sweeter than other Thai restaurants, but 5 stars for service. We will visit again.
