Taqueria Chapala - Austin

I am a huge fan of this place I’ll update with pictures soon! Best salsas (made fresh) in town their red is a bright and fresh style that is hard to find (not the tomato paste style that everyone else seems to use). Their Jalapeno salsa (matte green) will not melt your face off; I drive there specifically for both! Dishes to try: Parrilladas (mixed), BAC breakfast tacos, pork chops, al pastor tacos, caldo de camaron I’ve honestly never had anything there that wasn’t excellent. Also, I was just there recently and their prices are still super affordable!

Average restaurant. The tacos were not large in size, but they were filled with a generous amount of meat. The salsa served at the table was slightly spicy but tasty. Our server primarily spoke Spanish, making it a bit difficult for the non-Spanish speakers in our group to order.

The salsa was amazing and the tacos were delicious. The pastor stood out as the best dish.

This traditional taqueria is exactly what you're looking for. While nothing stands out as exceptional, everything is consistently good. I recommend trying the carne asada, as well as the menudo which is perfect for curing a hangover.

Food served really fast! Delicious! Restrooms are shiny clean. Highly recommend.
