La Taverna - AVIGLIANO

At a visit to lagopesole’s castle and it is museum, along with my sister and her husband, decided to stop for a place of lunch in la taverna. what a pleasant surprise! although I left basilicata when I was very young and now lived in the...UK, (since 1970), I still feel very tied to my roots and the typical rustic cuisine of the region. we were very impressed by the presentation, selection and quality of the food served, especially the mixed antipasto and the quality of the brote, (it was very reminded of my childhood based on my experience in eating and drinking more than 50 years, (in different countries in Europe,) I would recommend this restaurant sincerely and I wish the young owners (irene and peppe,) all the best for the future. they deserve it very much.

Our lunch in la taverna was great! delicius antipasti and pasta. many options and very good service. we'll be back soon. peppe and irene treat us as at home! taste fried pfeffer (local plate,) it was amazing!

Peaceful and chilled atmosphere, absolutely good eating, low prices. I would recommend it!

My friend and I stumbled at this beautiful place. it has such a beautiful ambiente and the owners are also great! we had a beer and some snacks and wanted us to get back to this place regularly. I loved it!

Two nights two dinners both very good. First night had the chicken excellent also a liter of the house red wine excellent. Second night had pasta with sausage and saffron so good. My wife is vegetarian and loved her meals as well. Service, food, people...all what you hope for in a small town.
