Locanda Al Castello Di Avio

The food is excellent, the venue rustic but elegant, the scenery great. However, both food and wine are overpriced and the service a bit too slow.

Great local fare, and selection of wines. Good service. The restaurant is nested at the feet of an important historical castle, a little bit of a walk but worth the detour.

Ho partecipato a un'escursione organizzata dal castello di avio che ha fornito il pranzo al sacco fornito dalla locanda. Arrivi sul posto la mattina, ci è stato chiesto la nostra preferenza e, dopo la visita, siamo allineati per ricevere la nostra borsa. Credo che abbiano avuto dei grossi problemi organizzativi in cucina, perché erano tutti in corsa, occupati e completamente in ritardo: ci hanno messo più che per darci un panino e un pezzo di testa. Non capisco il ritardo da allora, dopo averci chiesto in anticipo, doveva essere tutto pronto.

Abbiamo pranzato alla fine del castello, davvero una sistemazione discreta, spartana ma con buoni piatti. bene il primo e dolci! porzioni abbondanti.

It is located inside the castle of Avio, like a true mediaval locanda . Excellent food, choice is limited but everything is fresh, local and handmade. It is a locanda, not a restaurant, it is small and there are only 4 or 5 long tables. Prices are very low. Owners are very kind and friendly. This is one of the best location I have even been. It is very close to Highway exit Avio but latest 400 metres walking only. In case of disability, tell them, there is a small private parking lot in front of the castle door.
