Pei Wei Asian Diner - Avondale

I was disappointed to find out that they no longer serve sushi rolls since the pandemic. However, we visited on a surprisingly slow Friday night, which was a nice bonus—there was no wait, and we could choose our table. The Kung Pao chicken served on fried rice was very flavorful, and they were willing to spice it up upon request. My wife had the honey-seared chicken, which was also excellent. I personally enjoy extra sauce, so I requested additional honey sauce on the side. On the downside, the crab wontons had a strong fishy taste, suggesting that the meat may not have been fresh. Overall, though, the food quality is usually very good.

I always enjoy their fresh, made-to-order Pan-Asian dishes, making it a perfect choice for a casual, Friday-night dinner. Dining in offers a great experience as well. Right now, our favorite is the Firecracker Chicken or Tofu—delicious!

I've ordered Pad Thai twice through UberEats, and both times it has been disappointing. The first time, the noodles were extremely soggy, and today's order didn’t even come with any Pad Thai sauce. It's really frustrating, especially since the one in Phoenix has always been great every time I've ordered. This was just dry noodles with some chili flakes.

The food LOOKS fine, I was excited to try it even though our order was stolen before our doordasher had even gotten there. Immediately my chicken curry reeks of fish. The taste is bland, rubbery, and oddly sour/fishy. It left a nasty taste in my mouth and I'm assuming it's spoiled. Took 2 bites and I'm throwing the rest away. First and only time I will ever try this place.

They were extremely slow or under bad management. Food was stacking up as the cashier was taking orders, delivering food to the dining room and packing to go orders. The restroom was gross. The trash can was in the middle of the floor with no bag and the floors look like they haven't been mopped in years. The menu has been shrunk, but the food and tea were still good.
