Írjon visszajelzéstWow, what an incredible experience. I called in to Kā Uri this morena on my way north to Cape Reinga. This place is absolutely stunning. You definitely need to visit when in the area. The kauri products, exhibitions, and video screened on a huge wrap around wall were very impressive, but most of all was the huge piece of swamp kauri with its own internal stair case. I also stopped in at the onsite café for some kai and kāwhe, I was not disappointed. Best mince cheese pie I've had in a long time. The kāwhe and smoothie were perfect, too. Staff were very welcoming, made you feel right at home. I'm so glad I called in and stayed for a while, You should too!
Stopped here with my small tour group on the way to Cape Reinga. We used to stop here all the time privately and as guides with groups and are happy to see at least the Cafe open already (the showroom/shop is not far behind I was told). The food was very tasty, prompt service, hot drinks and very clean. Carpark is very big and paved now as well but no more 'car wash ' for those who come off the beach. No problem though as it seems not many do anymore. We did get a tiny exclusive preview of the new showroom and the 'old ' staircase and I must say, people you are in for a treat! 5 years in the making but the wait will be worth it.
Just opened in New building. So worth a stop. You can walk I side a Kauri tree. Food was fantastic. Kumera (carrot) cake was to die for. Sausage roll was fantastic. Took home some pies too. Highly recommend a stop.
Nice place to stop for a break, simple food and drink at a reasonable price. The friendly service makes it even better. Do spend some time to look around the shop, you can climb up the inside of a giant tree.
The cafe food is excellent and prices astonishingly favourable. The kauri stairs have a beautiful new setting, the static table setting display is beautiful. But...the range of unique kauri products displayed for sale is very disappointing, and nothing like the range in the old kauri kingdom. Plenty of standard kiwiana tat. Missing out on great opportunity.
