Cafe Amadeus - Bad Mergentheim

We had some okay meals here, always dinners. The ambience could be delightful, situated right in the park and adjacent to the outdoor amphitheater as it is, but the cigarette smoking, which was everywhere on the patio, ruined it for us. The windows were opened, so even when we sat inside, we were forced to breathe it and endure having it infiltrate our hair, clothing, and effectively ruin the foods we had ordered. Very little English spoken by the staff- we ran into two servers who could competently translate the menu for us and attend to our orders. No English menus.

Be sure to get there before 4pm or so, as the cafe runs out of dishes on the menu closer towards the evening... and seating is limited as well.They have a good selection of teas and coffees, as well as beer and wine, and freshly-squeezed juices! Very friendly staff and good service.
