Das Schlossl - Bad Tölz

There is a fair choice of restaurants in the old town of Bad Toelz, but sometimes a pleasant walk to the other side of the river and a slight detour via the beautiful Kurpark will help to work up a healthy appetite. You’ll need it at the Schlossl in the Schuetzenstrasse. The restaurant boasts a pleasant atmosphere and the excellent Ayinger beer. Though you will not enter a gourmet heaven, the food we have had here over the past years was always well prepared and nicely presented. However, a little smile from the waitress would make all the difference, but what do I know about other peoples troubles. As I said before, you need to be hungry to order the Riesenschnitzel (EUR 12.80, pork), in fact there were two schnitzels on the plate, plenty of pommes-frites and side-plate of fresh mixed salad. Not all Schnitzels in Bad Toelz compare well with this offering. Go for it! Furthermore, there is a good choice of wines and of course the agreeable Ayinger beer to accompany your meal. Unfortunately, I will have to deduct one star for the indifferent service. As a paying guest, I like to be made welcome, looked after, even spoiled - it would make such a difference to the otherwise good meal.

If you like salt, this is the place! You could tell underneath the salt that the food was good but, no way could I eat it most of the time. In addition, only one wait staff was available most of the time we stayed there. She was a nice lady - Bridget but the owner needs to hire more help.

Mit der Sauberkeit nachlässig (Tellerrand verschmutzt, unter der Eckbank Spinnenweben, Essensreste und eine Glaskugel). Essen nichts besonders. Wirt, Herr Sieberer sehr unfreundlich.

Vor mehreren waren waren wir auf Empfehlung im Schlössl gelandet und hatten es nicht bereut. Deshalb sind wir auch dieses Mal wieder im Schlössl gelandet. Gute Auswahl für jeden Geschmack auf der Karte. Angemessene Preise für sehr gute Speisen. Auch beim nächsten mal werde ich wohl wieder dort landen um die gute Küche in familiärer Atmosphäre zu genießen.
