Írjon visszajelzéstWe were staying at a hotel right across the street - bit its restaurant was temporarily closed for change of manager, so we trued the Wappen of Baden - and so glad we did. We ended up going there all three evenings of our stay, as the food was absolutely delicious; generous portions, decent prices (for Western Europe) and absolutely friendly and considerate service. Making a reservation is recommended, except if you dine early, say around 6 p.m., since it seems the Europeans dine later than we do, so most reservations are for after 7:45 or so, and they let you have the tables before that if you walk in before or around 6.
What a lovely little find. To be honest it is hard to have a bad dinner in this quaint town from what I have experienced on this trip but this was a wonderful meal! The goat cheese and prosciutto salad/starter is not to be missed. My husband and I both took a photo of it as it was so pretty (we are restaurant people) and the makeup of the dish was great. Lots of pickled delights mixed with a nice Bibb lettuce, dressing and little prosciutto medallions stuffed with goat cheese. Yum!Spaetzle was decent. Goulash was tender with a nice rich gravy. The entrees are large portions. Applecake was ok. Garden terrace lovely. Beer selection is pretty standard for Black Forest. Wine selection is decent. Service so friendly and accommodating.
Wappen von Baden is an extremly friendly place where we felt really welcome. The menu has the typical items for the region, prices are adequate. The environment has a rural touch and fits into the region. Definitely a recommendation!
