The Countryman - Ballymena

Sam and Ann's service was exceptional! This restaurant is perfect for a family meal, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely return in the future. The food was also top-notch. Thank you!

I made a reservation for Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at 5:45 pm for my wife and myself. Unfortunately, the restaurant is now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We arrived at 5:40 pm and waited for a while before a staff member came to seat us. The trend for the rest of the evening was slow service, with only one member of staff serving. Despite there being only one other table of 5 diners when we arrived, we were served after them. The young man serving us also seemed to be the bartender, which was not satisfactory. It took half an hour for us to receive our main course, which was only okay. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we will not be in a rush to return based on this visit.

We decided to give Countryman's a try for a family meal out, as we hadn't been there since before Covid. The food was fantastic, receiving a 10/10 rating, and the service was great as well. My husband tried the special, their version of a Big Mac burger, and he really enjoyed it. I ordered the Chicken Atlanta, which was just as good as I remembered. The portions were generous and all the dishes were served piping hot. The staff were also very accommodating and helpful.

Highly recommend the countryman! The staff are lovely and go above and beyond to provide fantastic service we popped in for 1 drink and ended up having a few and returned the next day for roast dinner. Food is nice and reasonably priced. Ann, Sam and James are great thanks so much will definitely return soon x
